Red Granite Figure of a Lion at The British Museum, London

This statue is a companion-piece of another guardian figure, but unlike the latter its main inscription, on the pedestal, was added later by Tutankhamun. Both statues are considered to be masterpieces of animal sculpture. The eyes were once inlaid.
