Pathfinder at Christchurch, Ipswich

Born in Bury St Edmunds, son of sculptor Geoffrey Clark, Jonathan served his apprenticeship in his father's studio and foundry, learning to master the means of sand-cast aluminium. He works from his Hartest studio in Suffolk. His aluminium sculpture themes have included warriors and gods of mythology, boats and ships and heads. Recent work has included aluminium and glass boats, ships and sea sculptures. He has undertaken many public commissions including Ship of Fool (1999, aluminium) in Orcard Street, Ipswich, Boadicea, Colchester Railway station roundabout and The Way of Life in Ely Cathedral.
