Mother and Child at the Petit Palais, Paris

The sculptor Paul Troubetzkoy (1866 - 1938), originally Russian, worked in Paris around 1900 after having grown up in Italy. Extremely appreciated and celebrated for his "Statuette Portraits" which represented celebrities of the Belle Époque ('The Beautiful Era', read more here), the sculptor was also interested in more intimate subjects, such as this moving ideology of the Mother and Child.
