This sculpture is by the French sculptor Eugène Dodeigne born July 27, 1923 at Rouvreux, near Liège in Belgium. From the age of 13, Eugene Dodeigne learned the trade in his father's workshop as a stonecutter. After drawing lessons and modeling in Tourcoing and the Ecole des Beaux - Arts in Paris, he continued his apprenticeship in the workshop of Marcel Gimond. In 1950 Dodeigne moved to Bondues . His first solo exhibition, Marcel Evrard gallery in Lille, takes place in 1953. Wood sculptor until 1955 , uses knots and natural accidents and respecting the identity of the material. From 1955 he begins to work the stone will become the essential material of his work.
