Salomé at The Reunion des Musées Nationaux, Paris

This bronze statuette titled 'Salomé' was sculpted by Jules Desbois around 1912. Desbois (born 20th December 1851 - died 2nd October 1935) was a French sculptor and medallion engraver. He is famed for many iconic sculptures in Paris and his relationship with Auguste Rodin which lead them to explore America and gain influences from its culture. The well balanced sculpture depicts a nude woman, her lower half covered by fabric, stretching outwards with both arms in an exaggerated contrapposto.
