Georges Méliès Bust at the Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris

Georges Méliès was a famous French illusionist and filmmaker celebrated for his groundbreaking cinematographic techniques including multiple exposures, time-lapse photography, dissolves and hand-painted colour. His œuvre, A Trip To The Moon, is considered one of the most pioneering pieces of cinema to date.
Sculpted in bronze by Renato Carvillani in 1951, This life-size bust heads his tomb at the Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris.
