3D modely ARTMaenad (Bacchante) at The Louvre, ParisTitle Ménade (Bacchante) Artist Unknown, from Italy (?) Date 1st - 2nd century AD Medium Marble Dimensions Height, 1.76 m Accession # Inv. MR 101 (No. 911) Credit Former Mattei collection Chateau de Louveciennes, seized during the revolution between 1804-1814 The crown of ivy and vine allows us to recognise the subject of this sculpture as a Maenad, a figure who would accompany the procession of the god Dionysus (Bacchus, the wine god). This statue in the Louvre could have been a replica of the Roman era, a Greek original, now lost, created in the course of the third centutry BC. The right arm and vase are both restorations. náhodný výbÄ›r modelů
