Sarcophagus Falcon at The Réunion des Musées Nationaux, Paris

This finely detailed bronze statuette of a falcon originates from the Bronze age, roughly 664-332 B.C. Like many other falcons used in Egypt at this time (explore the British Museum Falcon here) they were used to decorate a sarcophagus which would hold an embalmed body of a deceased animal or human.
