Statue of Freedom, Washington DC Capitol Building, USA

The bronze Statue of Freedom by Thomas Crawford is the crowning feature of the Dome of the United States Capitol. The statue is a classical female figure with long, flowing hair wearing a helmet with a crest composed of an eagle’s head and feathers. A marble version stands permanently inside of the building which is more accessible for the general public to engage with.
The sculpture is larger than life and was made in the 18th Century.
