Panther with its cubs at Rameau Palace, Lille, France

This slightly larger than life granite sculpture depicts a panther with its cub; it was sculpted by Maurice Prost in 1948. Prost is famed for his sculptures of panthers, creating sculptures of the animal now popular in art deco. Despite him usually casting sculptures in bronze or sculpting out of marble this, and the other sculpture outside of the Rameau Palace (also uploaded on Scan The World), is made from granite.
