Injured Gaul at the Louvre museum, Paris, France

Recognizable by his unkempt hair and oval shield in central rib, this Gallic warrior (called by the Greeks gallate) fiercely resists despite the injury that weakens. The work is tinged with the baroque aesthetic expensive sculpture of Pergamum. It was inspired by a group dedicated to 200 BC. BC on the Acropolis of Athens, to commemorate the victory of sovereign Pergamene over the Galatians.
