The Shard, London

The Shard is an 87-storey high skyscraper of contemporary architecture that features in the London skyline. It is the UK's second-tallest free-standing structure standing at 224.3 metres tall. The building is impressive in its unfamiliar form which pierces into the sky. Its construction began in 2009 and was inaugurated on the 5th July 2012.
