Sphinx at Cleopatra's Needle, Embankment, London

This is one of two almost identical bronze sculptures that depict a sphinx. The two larger than life statues face towards Cleopatra's needle to guard it. The sphinx is an Egyptian mythological creature that are symbollic of fate, riddles and protection.
