3D modely ARTApollo or athlete at The British Museum, LondonThis is a marble statue of Apollo or an ahlete, it originates from Rome carved in the 1st Century AD after a Greek original of about 470-460 BC. Standing proud and confident, this statue might represent a winning boxer or the god Apollo. The chest is powerfully muscled and the veins in the shoulders and upper arms are prominent, a physique particularly appropriate for a boxer. He is represented as if he has just won a match. A victor's ribbon or possibly boxer's leather thong (bound around the fist and forearm to form a glove) hangs down the tree-trunk. The many marble versions of this statue that survive show how celebrated the type was in the ancient world, inspired by some famous bronze original, now lost. We may never know the identity of the figure. Apollo was the god of boxing and he was usually shown with long hair at this date, though braiding like this was a popular style with athletes around 480-460 BC. náhodný výběr modelů
