A little boy reaches with right hand fingers and spread to the surrounding water curtain . The head, in looking upward movement follows the water feature , metal - bronze , 97 cm , 1930. The replica was donated to the then estate owner Alain Speeckaert upon his retirement as chairman of the Belgian health insurance company Factory. Arthur Dupon was a Belgian visual artist who was born in 1890. Several works by the artist have been sold at auction. The artist died in 1972. The Middelheim Museum is a unique treasure in the art-loving city of Antwerp. The open-air museum and its exceptional setting provide a fascinating overview of more than one hundred years of visual arts. The Middelheim Museum collection includes approximately 400 works of art collected over a period of more than 50 years. Works date from around 1900 to the present, and as a collection they provide an excellent overview of international modern and contemporary art. Every year sees new works added to the collection. Around 215 sculptures have been placed in the park, including works by major artists such as Auguste Rodin, Rik Wouters, Henry Moore, Juan Muñoz, Carl Andre, Panamarenko, Franz West, Erwin Wurm and many others.
