3D modely ARTThe holy Nicodemus (Figure from a tomb) at The Museum of Fine Arts, Ghent, BelgiumTitle The Holy Nicodemus (Figure from a tomb) Artist Anonymous Master Date ca. 1500, Southern Netherlands origin Medium Wood and polychrome paint Dimensions Approx. 81.5 cm in height Accession # 1952-AN The sculptures of limestone or wood in the 15th century polychrome were predominant. Copies of original and well preserved polychrome are rare. The former colorful and dazzling views of most images is lost due to poor storage conditions, neglection or changed aesthetic views. For example, traces of paint were found on the image of Nicodemus, a figure that is part of a burial. Polychrome is usually the task of the painter. It is a time consuming and complex technology and therefore often paid better than the picture cut or covers. Polychrome, also called upholstery, is not mere decoration. The colors have a symbolic meaning and the image should give a lofty and transcendent brilliance. (Credit; Vlaamsekunstcollectie) náhodný výběr modelů
