3D modely ARTHoard of Tools at The British Museum, LondonTitle Part of a hoard of tools, probably used for woodworking Artist Unknown Date Cycladic (Keros-Syros Culture), 2700-2200 BC Medium Arsenic copper Dimensions x Accession # GR 1969.12-31.1 - 3 Credit Aquired in 1688, from Naxos The remarkable advances in metalwork in the Keros-Syros culture can be seen from the existence of such robust tools. The copper probably came from Kythnos, an important source of ore in the Early Bronze Age, but these objects are no longer known as the 'Kythnos Hoard'. The entire hoard was perhaps either hidden for retrieval or possibly dedicated in a shrine or sanctuary. The large flat axe in this group were perhaps used for felling trees and stripping branches, the heavy duty shaft-hole axes for splitting tree-trunks into planks and the chisels for finer wood. náhodný výběr modelů
