Zephyrus at V&A, London

Zephyrus, translated in Greek as 'the west wind' is the greek god of his own name, and is popularly known as the messenger of spring. This beautiful marble sculpture by an unknown sculptor and date depicts him nude with fabric covering the left side of his body. The sculpture is on permanent display at the V&A, alongside a similar sculpture depicting Apollo who it is rumoured that he courted with.
