3D modely ARTA Torso of Venus at The Barber Institute, BirminghamTitle A Torso of Venus Artist Unknown Italian Artist Date From Rome, about 100 A.D. Medium Marble Dimensions x Accession # No. 40.9 Credit Purchased 1940 This fragment of a full-length female figure was made by a Roman sculptor. It is based on a lost Greek prototype dating from the 4th century BC. It has been suggested that the figure is Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty, disrobing before bathing. However, it is more likely to be a semi-draped statue of her Roman equivalent, Venus. Unlike many incomplete statues discovered in the 18th and 19th centuries, this one has not had new limbs added. náhodný výběr modelů
